We think that the demand for alpaca fibre will continue to increase. At the moment the world does not supply enough fibre to meet the demand so there is great room to expand. We think we are in the right place at the right time. It is true that the price of alpacas has come down considerably but this is not as bad as it sounds. It simply means that more people will become alpaca owners & breeders; we can increase our production of fleece and share our lives with these incredible animals. I think we can be successful if we keep out heads on straight. We need to set goals and stick to them, try not to be fooled by a pretty face or fads. Keep your record keeping meticulous, your animal care top notch and conscientious, reputable and honourable breeders will always find a place for their product.
